Thank you so much for the Mindful Eating workshop – it was amazing!
I was so impressed and gained so much respect for you because you didn’t talk about food as being “bad” or “evil” - I always get so discouraged when I hear about friends or family members who are on a special diet (i.e. no carbs or the cookie diet). I always get sad when I see people allow a diet to define them and deprive them – it’s like how you pointed out at the workshop that some people actually begin to believe that potatoes are “bad” for them!
I love food, it inspires me, it nourishes me, it brings me closer to people I love – to be able to enjoy it more mindfully is going to be wonderful. This morning I sat at my kitchen table with the sun streaming in and mindfully picked up a strawberry slice and looked at it...I have never noticed before how beautiful a strawberry is, the way the white core striates out into the red flesh – I appreciated the tastes and sensations of the strawberry so much more.
By being a mindful eater, I am reminded at least four times a day when I sit down to eat a meal or snack to be more present and in the moment. This will help me to become more mindful in my everyday life with my family and friends.

"Wow, Wanjira has done it again !! She has introduced us to another yoga practice that calms and nourishes the soul. The Restorative Workshop included simple, gentle poses to calm the body, mind and spirit, but reminded me that slowing down is okay. I actually fell asleep at one point and had to recall where I was. That's how wonderful and relaxing Restorative Yoga can be. Thank you Wanjira for teaching us to be kind to ourselves and bringing us to places where we can cherish our very being".

Hello Wanjira,
I want to let you know how happy I am since the wakeup call I got at the Mindfulness class, it got me noticing how I was not true to my spirit, it really it me determine to do something about all the promises and had not fulfilled. I have a written reminder in my room that helps.
The next day got to making a monthly budget and still doing it for April and made an appointment with Belle et Mince for better eating habits and I am strongly committed and feel it and I have lost six pounds, eating better made the pain in my shoulder go away and that makes me happier.
I feel my spirit stronger and I will keep that way, I wanted to share this with you and thank you for your help in opening my eyes and stop the procrastination for that I am very grateful.
